The Irish Civil War – TV Documentary Series

COMPOSER BESPOKE SCORE

For all you history buffs out there:

The multi-awarding winning team that brought you the The War of Independence and The Hunger documentary series on RTÉ is pleased to announce a new major series The Irish Civil War which will debut on RTÉ in October 2022.

The Irish Civil War, a television documentary series in three parts, based on UCC’s Atlas of the Irish Revolution, directed by Ruán Magan, and narrated by Irish legend Brendan Gleeson. sets out to mark the centenary of the Civil War. The series forms part of the Decade of Centenaries and will examine the critical years of the Irish State’s foundation, from the Truce period to the highly charged Treaty Debates and split, to the outbreak of the Civil War, the conduct of that war and its legacy.

(Interesting to note: The earlier three-part Irish Revolution documentary series, narrated by Cillian Murphy, is still available to view on the RTE player )

There have been a range of fascinating events arranged throughout the country around the Decade of Centenaries, but for us here at Avant Music Port we’re especially delighted about the live Concert with the preview screening of Episode Two which will take place at the Cork Opera House on the 13th of September, 2022, as the score has been provided by Avant Music Port‘s very talented composer Natasa Paulberg, with the help of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. If you have the opportunity to come to this event hurry to get your tickets (available in the link just above) as they will go fast.
