Hailing from Dublin Vyvienne Long is a classically trained cellist and multi instrumentalist. She’s studied at the College of Music in Dublin, and the Escola de Musica in Barcelona. With her quintet (2 cellos, piano, doublebass and drums) she produces beautiful, quirky, intimate and thoughtful songs, over which her charming vocals weave and dance.
Vyvienne’s talents have always been in high demand, and she has spent many years touring with Damien Rice, and has appeared with the likes of Ed Sheeran (see below). Thus far, she’s released an EP entitled Birdtalk, which contained two fabulous covers of Flaming Lips and N.E.R.D, and three albums Caterpillar Sarabande, Vyvienne Long Live with the Balanescu Quartet, and more recently A Lifetime of High Fives. She’s also covered The White Stripes‘ Seven Nation Army to great acclaim, as part of the Even Better than the Real Thing, Vol 2, a charity compilation of cover versions by Irish artists.
