Tom Power makes piano driven experimental music drawn from the very west of Ireland, namely Dingle, and there is no doubt about that glittering vast backdrop being there whilst listening to him. However, the fact that he nowadays is based in Amsterdam, adds some other layer to his creations, something more urban, slightly industrial, something which connects on a further level somehow. This is dreamy noise, eerie unease, thoughtful light and dark, that here and there slip into tribal trance territory, searching for some kind of serenity in which one can be cradled. To get the most out of this music, close your eyes, forget your stresses and the daily chores, and retreat into some isolated content space in which you can surge with the gentle breeze wherever it may take you.
