Plug yourself in and fasten your seatbelt: Lace Weeper is on the AMP Player. Having released their debut album “As the Crow Flies” in 2015; launching it at the Dublin institution Whelan’s, they are now ready to take on the world with a big dirty thunder and lightning storm. They do mean to be taken very seriously, and even borrowed ex-Nirvana drummer Chad Channing for a couple of tracks on the album. This is heavy rock run through with grunge veins, sprinkled with the odd acoustic mellow moment (such as Amend). Lace Weeper are all about constructing firm melodic structures from the crashing torrents of guitars, bass, vocals and drums, and what they achieve is a swaggering, knowing, head-banging groove of musical pomp and circumstance. This stuff mostly will need high octane visual content, something with truck loads of energy, but don’t let it be the only reason to look for them on the player, they’ve got energy enough to turn your minds around a good few times.
