Kneecap – Feature Film
The feature film Kneecap, directed by Rich Peppiatt and produced by Trevor Birney (Fine Point Films) and Jack Tarling (Shudder Films), is the first Irish language movie to make it into the prestigious Sundance Festival, and premiered in the US the 18th of January, 2024. The film is a semi-fictionalised account of how the Irish rap group came about, and it stars the band members along with Michael Fassbender and Simone Kirby, amongst others. It has at its heart the issues of minority languages and civil rights.
