“A small spark can ignite the light and hold it in your heart”…

Writing simple yet stunning lyrics that stay with you is one of the many talents of alternative folk/pop songstress Róisín O. A natural musician and performer, she is no stranger to fame or the stage having grown up surrounded by music with mother Mary Black and brother Danny (lead singer of popular band The Coronas). Since joining what seems to be the family business, Róisín has toured extensively throughout Europe and the States, both as a solo performer, and as part of her mother and brother’s bands.

Her first album ‘The Secret Life of Blue’, released in 2012, was quoted as ‘brilliant and addictive’ by Ireland’s leading music magazine Hot Press, and what is one of the most enjoyable aspects of this album, and Róisín’s music in general, is its mix of heartache and happiness; it goes easily from a delicate, heartbroken acoustic track (Hold On) to a powerful, high energy, number (Give It Up). With a voice that has been compared to powerhouses such as Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, and a musicality that has the energy, youth and summery feel of bands such as Haim, we cannot wait to see what Róisín comes up with for her long awaited follow album to be released later this year!
