Straight out of Brooklyn, and having just recently released a new EP, Jason Matu is a longstanding artist with Avant Music Port. First in the form of, one of the two members of the band Shapes on Tapes, and then as he went off on his own. One thing that we’ve always been able to count on when it comes to Jason is the constant output of catchy and fun tracks that will stay in your mind straight from the start, and once you’ve had the pleasure of hearing his very special voice you will be able to pick him out of lineup easily, no problem (sorry Jason, not trying to jinx you here 😉 ).
Jason’s current EP was written all in one day and recorded by frequent collaborator and Grammy-nominated producer Justin Craig (known for Hedwig and The Angry Inch), and accompanied by Jordan and Talor Steinberg (fellow Avant Music Port artists) of The Moon City Masters. In the first video below you’ll get a good idea of the new EP, and below that great array of other new’ish tracks that will have you humming along, and dancing, in no time.
