This Waterford band has warmed up the stage for Fatboy Slim, and you can guess why when you hear the energy and and the positivity that they exude. Their music just pushes its pedal to the metal without any excuses. There is plenty of confidence but also a sense of thoughtfulness in the fun that they are having. This is art rock, with a nod to grunge.
Consisting of Brendan Feeney (vocals), Brian Casey (Guitar & Vocals), Ian Fleming (Lead Guitar), Bobby Comerford (Bass) and Alan Hennessy (Drums), the fivepiece has, in the past, had an official pairing with Wexican Motorsport, a drifting team run by former Prodrift European Champion Martin Ffrench. (Drifting – for those of you who have not heard of it – is an unusual motorsport involving cars sliding sideways around corners), and it is pretty obvious why this came about. Basically, if Queens of the Stone Age and Franz Ferdinand had a baby it would be called Gorbachov!
Sounds Like: Talking Heads, Arctic Monkeys
Influences: Nirvana, Prince, Queen, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin
