This quintet from County Meath has been around long enough to ensure that people are aware of their ear for a beguiling tune, albeit always accompanied by a definite odd sound strut. A big part of the peculiarity comes from the animated lead vocalist Kazmo’s pronunciations and singing style. Think a Frazey Ford, David Byrne lovechild. The sort of thing that either is your cup of tea, or … Here at AMP we’re definitely in the Cult Called Man camp.
Live these guys really demand attention, and tend to easily woe the crowds. On record they have a similar hold; enchanting through interesting instrumentations and nice arrangements, as well as their keen retro eye and ear. This is a type of art rock, sometimes presented in a glam rock vessel, sometimes with a Devo’esque disposition, always ready to reinvent and surprise.
“just the right mix of brash, brains, Bowie, and bravado”
