“We beg, borrow and steal from everywhere, like all good pop musicians” (Hot Press Magazine) says Tim O’Donovan, one half of the electro/pop/synth/funk power duo that are Buffalo Woman. The band is made up of afore mentioned Tim O’Donovan, producer and DJ extraordinaire, and Neil Watkins, musician/actor/showman. O’Donovan is the man behind the screen producing the rises and falls of their funk/feel-good infused grooves, while vocalist Watkins dramatically commands the stage. When these two combine their talents the result is a magical concoction of influences; the synth patterns of LCD Soundsystem, the funk of Daft Punk and Prince, the haunting distinct vocals of Bowie or Scott Walker, and a definite nod to 80s/90s flamboyant avant garde like Bronsci Beat and Erasure, to name a few. Their tracks have a serious swagger about them, whilst being fun, playful, and uplifting in character too. If there ever was a duo to get you on the dancefloor and inspire a bop, these are your guys.
