With a steady career in great indie bands like The Mighty Stef, The Last Tycoons, Paddy Hanna and Maud in Cahoots, Dan Fitzpatrick’s solo project here is obviously a love child with many a parent.

The music mag Hot Press offered this compact overview of some of the tracks:

The piano-driven glam rock of ‘Only One for Me’ and ‘Lost In A Dream’ evoke Sunny Afternoon-era The Kinks, while ode to laziness ‘Monday Morning’ has echoes of The Strokes and The Walkmen. The darkly seductive ‘Let Me In’, meanwhile, feels very Nick Cave-ish.

And Badhands does indeed melt and mould, mix and deliver in deliberate and consistent manner which is all more than pleasing, it will simply get you hooked.

With a second album on the way soon, we are eager, ready and willing to get seduced again. How about you?
