A nostalgic shimmer surrounds the music that (Daniel) Anderson makes, and it is easy to be pleasantly lulled into reveries of yesterdays. The track History is a good example. Here Anderson looks at “the ashes of yesterday”, sifts through them, and “still I see the sunrise in your eyes, whenever blue, I look beside me and I see you”. With a light hearted approach, and with a kind, sweet voice he tackles the often melancholy and personal issues that surrounds us in our daily lives in the manner of such greats as Paul McCartney, John Lennon and perhaps also the more contemporary Elbow.
Here in Dublin Anderson got a lot of media coverage a while back as he took a novel approach to record selling when he went door to door with his album. Watch this video of the effort that is on par with Roddy Doyle’s famous Dublin charm and warmth.
