Sync of the week: The Leftovers

Music Supervisor: Liza Richardson

For those of you that have been following the Damon Lindelof take on the Tom Perrotta novel The Leftovers you are bound to have been impressed with the wide variety of music that perfectly pours forth to the tense storyline. From Olivia Newton John (Magic) to Grandmaster Flash (White lines), Pixies (Where is my mind) to Simon and Garfunkel (Homeward bound) and on and on, and obviously not forgetting Iris DeMent (Let the mystery be) on the title track. The wonder woman at the supervision reins is obviously none other than KCRW’s Liza Richardson; she was previously mentioned in the AMP “synch of the week” blog for her work on The Affair. It is clear that Liza both loves and knows her music, and thanks to sync she is able to convey this passion of hers to all of us, and if she is on the lookout for some new and wonderful stuff to add on to her long list of productions she will for sure find it here at Avant Music Port.
